The Role

We are seeking a friendly, dynamic Veterinary Surgeon to work in our Cheltenham and Charlton Kings practices.

These fantastic clinics are a short ten minute drive from each other in Cheltenham, both excellently equipped with two wonderful teams!

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of small animal practice experience and be confident working sole charge. A client-orientated approach and excellent communication skills is a must, alongside the ability to work to a high standard both medically and surgically.

We offer excellent long term prospects for the right candidate, with advancement in skills and specialism actively encouraged. Experience working in an environment where colleagues support you by sharing skills and knowledge to give our patients the best outcomes.

Salary and hours

This role works to a 4 day week plus 1:4 Saturdays, 08:00-13:00 – No on-call or bank holiday requirements!

Joining our national network of veterinary surgeons at Medivet, offers exceptional opportunities for career development while enjoying a very competitive salary package.

This role offers a package of up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience including £9000 accommodation allowance and company vehicle or £2500 allowance. A generous £1500 CPD allowance is also designed to drive your progress with 3-days CPD leave and RCVS, VDS and BVA membership. 5 weeks annual holiday allowance (FTE) plus bank holidays.

Skills and Experience

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

The Branch

Medivet Cheltenham and Charlton Kings are a short 10 minute drive from each other, located in the picturesque town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire.

The clinics are well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, Imotek ultrasound machine, multipara monitor, endoscopy and much more!

The successful candidate will be working within two fantastic teams, including Megan at Cheltenham, Medivet’s Vet of the Year 2020!

Cheltenham borders the beautiful the Cotswolds, offering an excellent base to explore our lovely countryside and chocolate box villages! It is adjacent to the M5 motorway and is based an hour away from Bristol and Birmingham, and two hours away from exciting London.
