Overview

By accessing or using the The Veterinary Map service (“the Site”), you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions below. The Veterinary Map may modify this agreement at any time, and such modifications shall be effective immediately upon posting the modified agreement on the Site. The Veterinary Map also has a Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for users of the Site. For the purporses of these Terms a& Conditions, the words “we”, “our” and “us” refer to VetNomad Pty Ltd trading as The Veterinary Map (ABN 48 622 697 287).

Copyright and trademark

Copyright in the material and trademarks on this Site are owned by VetNomad trading as The Veterinary Map unless otherwise indicated and you agree not to infringe any intellectual property rights owned by The Veterinary Map.

No Falsehoods or Misrepresentations allowed

You agree that it is a condition of your use of The Veterinary Map that you will not through any act or omission make false statements or claims, or in any other way, mislead or deceive others. In this Term, your “use of The Veterinary Map” includes, but is not limited to, the creation of any profile, the sending of information to, or the communication with, any other user, or any other dealings you have as a result of your use of the Veterinary Map.

Information for personal, non-commercial use only

You agree that information contained on this Site is for personal use only and may not be sold, redistributed or used for any commercial purpose. You may not modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit or distribute in any way any material from this Site including code and software. You must not use this Site for any purpose that is unlawful or prohibited by these terms of use. You may not use data mining, robots, screen scraping, or similar automated data gathering, extraction or publication tools on this Site.

No guarantee of vacancy or endorsement of employers or employees or of other Site users

The Veterinary Map provides listings, links and pointers to other sites maintained by third parties from this Site. Such other sites are not under the control of The Veterinary Map and we are not responsible for the contents (including the accuracy, legality or decency) of any listed information or any linked site nor do we endorse any listed information or linked site or any user of this Site. We are not responsible for the copyright compliance of any listed information or any linked site and we will not be liable for any damages or loss arising in any way out of or incidental to any information or third party service provided by any third party.

The Veterinary Map does not provide any screening or vetting of users of the site or of the information provided by users. The Veterinary Map gives no guarantee to you of the availability of any particular job advertised on the Site or of the veracity of information provided in the listing. We will not be liable to you should an employer have filled the vacancy at any time prior to removal of the advertisement from the Site. We will not be liable to you for any damages incurred from the listing of any information on the site or from any communications between you and other users of the site.

No guarantees as to service levels

The Veterinary Map cannot and does not guarantee or warrant to you that files available for downloading through the Site or delivered via electronic mail through the Site will be free of infection or viruses, worms, Trojan horses or other code that contain disruptive or damaging properties. The Veterinary map provides no warranty to you that the services generally available through its Site will be uninterrupted or error-free or that defects in the service will be corrected. You are responsible for maintaining procedures and systems to ensure your particular requirements for safety and integrity of data and for maintaining a means for the reconstruction of any lost data.

No guarantee as to security of your information

While the Veterinary Map takes due care to ensure the privacy and integrity of the information you provide, we cannot and do not guarantee that this information will not be unlawfully observed or used by another Site user or by a third party whilst accessing the Internet or by breaching The Veterinary Map’s Site security or terms of use or by other means.

Analytical purposes: We use cookies to analyse user activity in order to improve the Site. For example, we can use cookies to look at aggregate patterns like the average number of job searches that users perform. We can use such analysis to gain insights about how to improve the functionality and user experience of the Site. Third party cookies used include Google Analytics to track user activity.

User Experience: We use cookies to gather certain information about users, such as browser type, server, language preference, geographic location and country setting, in order to store user preferences on our Site to make your user experience more consistent and convenient. For example, we may store the recent searches you have performed in a cookie so that we can allow you to easily repeat those searches when you return to our Site. In addition, we use cookies to maintain your logged in state when you visit our Site repeatedly. We use your IP address to determine your geographic location in order to provide you with the most relevant search results.

Tracking Referrals: We use cookies to associate user activity with the third party website that referred the user to our Site, or to associate user activity that The Veterinary Map referred to a third party website. We also use cookies to associate user activity with the email campaign that referred the user to our Site.

Security Purposes: We use cookies to limit certain types of cyber attacks.

Performance Enhancement: We use cookies to ensure users receive a reliable experience, and to help improve site performance.

Privacy Policy

Collection, Use and Disclosure of InformationWe lawfully collect information that is necessary to provide the service offered, including the name, location and other publicly disclosed information of your business (clinic, university, private educator, other veterinary organisation, etc). The personal information we collect is what you tell us about yourself when completing an online form and when you send us email we will record your email address for future correspondence.
We use the information we collect for the purpose disclosed at the time of collection or otherwise as set out in this Privacy Statement. We will not use your personal information for any other purpose without first seeking your consent, unless authorised or required by law. Generally we will only use your personal information: • To maintain your relationship as a customer of The Veterinary Map • To direct Enquiries from Job Seekers to the relevant employer • To provide the services you have requested from The Veterinary Map • To administer and manage those services. • To answer your enquiries.
All supplied credit card information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway provider’s (Stripe’s) database. After a transaction, your credit card or bank account details are not stored on our servers.

If you post your Employer or Educator details on The Veterinary Map, please note that although The Veterinary Map expressly prohibits the scraping of its Site, any profile you post publicly is public information and the content may be copied by a third party in violation of these terms.

When an Employer unsubscribes an account, the Veterinary Map may leave the profile visible unless expressly requested to remove the profile. If the profile is removed, the Employer will no longer have access to any of the data which previously provided under that account name. If the Employer uses the same email address to set up a new account, new data will have to be entered. The Veterinary Map reserves the right to keep any materials in a closed account as necessary to preserve and protect its rights as allowed by law (for example, to preserve records of a dispute) or to comply with its obligations under local law (for example, to keep an email address). A closed account does not mean that all of the data is removed from our systems, although it will not be readily available under the Candidate’s original account name.

Employers or Educators may disable their account, however The Veterinary Map must preserve business records pertaining to that account to comply with its obligations under law. When a Candidate creates or uploads a resume on The Veterinary Map, the resume is intended to be kept private, and are only made available by the Candidate once the Candidate has initiated an Enquiry. For job Enquiries which the Candidate submits through or as a result of The Veterinary Map, please note: 1) that job applications and materials may be controlled by an employer, and The Veterinary Map depends on the Employer or the Employer’s agent to provide The Veterinary Map with the correct destination for all applications. The Veterinary Map has no liability for such Enquiries or other contact, or dealings that result from such Enquiries or other contact. If you do not wish to send your application materials in this manner, you should send them directly to the employer.

Contact Information

You agree that The Veterinary Map may, as part of its services to you, communicate with you, or initiate communication with you through your subscribed account or through other means such as email, telephone, or postal mail, including through the use of contact information that you may provide to The Veterinary Map or that The Veterinary Map may otherwise obtain from third-party resources. If, and to the extent, permitted by applicable law, The Veterinary Map may use your contact information to create a profile, send you job alerts or event alerts and to send you information about The Veterinary Map, including promotional materials.

Security

The Veterinary Map aims to use reasonable security measures to help protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the Personal Information under our control. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. In addition, please note that emails, messages sent via your web browser, and other similar means of communication with other users, are not encrypted. We recommend that you do not communicate any confidential or sensitive information through these means. Please also be aware that we may use third-party cloud service providers that provide hosting, data storage and other services pursuant to standard terms and conditions that may be non-negotiable. These service providers have informed us or the general public that they apply security measures they consider adequate for the protection of information within their system, or they have a general reputation for applying such measures. However, we will not be liable (to the fullest extent permitted by law) for any damages that may result from the misuse of any information, including Personal Information, by these companies.
