We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join our team. Our vets consult throughout the day, with usually 1 full operating day per week. There is significant time blocked out during the day for phone calls and case discussions. There is a minimum of 3 vets working per day (2 on a Saturday) which enables the team to support each other fully. You will generally work a 4 day week unless holiday/CPD/sickness. The role includes 1 in 4 inpatient responsibility and 1 in 6 consulting Saturday shifts. No OOH.
We are a busy first opinion practice who see a wide variety of cases. We have a purpose built building in the lovely rural area of Ely, Cambridgeshire, with a large range of veterinary equipment such as, x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope and dental x-ray. We have an experienced and supportive team who work together to create a positive working environment.
We have a 5 vet team, all general practitioners with their own areas of interest with enhanced knowledge within these areas. The vets enjoy discussing cases of interest amongst themselves and use each other’s knowledge to enhance patient care. There is a visiting orthopaedic specialist who is usually here weekly that our vets have the opportunity to be involved with. We have a 7 nurse team, again they have areas of interest, with nurses specialising in wound care, ISFM certificate and Emergency and Critical care. We do a lot of work with local charities particularly with cats protection whom we work extremely close with.
We are looking for a friendly individual who enjoys working in a close team. Experience would be ideal as well as confidence with surgery however training and support can be given.
