A full time position is available at Virginia Equine Imaging. We are a six-doctor equine veterinary practice located in beautiful Northern Virginia that specializes in lameness and diagnostic imaging of the horse. Our facility features state of the art equipment such as digital radiography, nuclear scintigraphy, and ultrasonography. We are looking for a highly motivated veterinary technician/assistant. Qualified applicant will have an outgoing personality, strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills. VEI is a fast paced environment so individual must possess ability to self-motivate, multi-task and handle direction professionally. Applicant must be proficient in handling horses and physically be able to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs. The ability to make decisions and react quickly in order to maintain the safety of patients and personnel is critical. Current experience handling and working with a variety of sport, pleasure and competition horses is desired. No previous veterinary technician experienced required but must be willing to learn. Duties will include assisting veterinarians with appointments both in clinic and out of clinic, performing diagnostic procedures involving all imaging modalities, laboratory specimen processing, and assisting with inventory management.
