Associate Veterinarian position available at King’s Mountain Animal Clinic
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, personable Veterinarian to join our six doctor practice located in Collinsville, VirginiaFive of our doctors work full-time while the sixth doctor works two days a week. We are looking for an additional doctor to join our fast-paced, small animal hospital. We will provide a mentoring atmosphere, and new graduates are welcome.
King’s Mountain Animal Clinic is a fully staffed, progressive, caring hospital with the goal of providing high-quality veterinary medicine with the standard of care we require for our own pets. We emphasize client education and disease prevention. The ability to be able to communicate is a must.

We do not have after-hours emergency, but still provide emergency service during regular business hours if needed.
We have a hardworking, seasoned, compassionate support staff with most being at the hospital for 16 years or more. Our support staff is knowledgeable and is a valuable asset to the veterinarians. They are the backbone of the exceptional care we provide to our patients.
The compensation and benefits package includes competitive salary plus production, insurance, vacation, annual continuing education allowance with time off, paid veterinarian and DEA licensing fees, and 401-K available.

We are located in the beautiful southern Piedmont section of the state. We are only 18 miles from the North Carolina state line, 20 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 4 hours to the coast, 2 miles from a trout stream, about 15 minutes from Philpott Lake, and about 25 minutes from Fairystone State Park. We have abundant walking and hiking trails throughout the area. We are only 35 miles from Smith Mountain Lake where there are 500 miles of shoreline to explore.
Qualifications
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or related degree from an accredited university.
Licensure in good standing to practice veterinary medicine in Virginia
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
Job responsibilities
Develop a rapport with clients by gathering pertinent information and listening to and empathizing with their concerns
Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort
Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis or list of diagnoses of the patient’s illness/condition; generate and present a treatment plan for the patient to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products
Maintain client/patient medical and surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols; assist colleagues in follow-up and future management of patients
Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend continuing education meetings
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service
Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
