The Role

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our keen, friendly team of 5 vets, 13 nurses and 8 reception. Alpha is split across 2 sites, offering Gold standard care to our pets and Clients. There is the opportunity for developing and growing your abilities and focus on any special interests you might have due to expanding the business. You will need to be well organised, enjoy working within a team and be motivated. We actively encourage certificates and are keen to develop your skills to a top standard.

We would consider flexible working and this position can be split between Langstone and Risca branches so tell us what works for you! At Risca, we are 100% SA, whilst our branch in Langstone is also a referral hub for orthopaedic and spinal cases. We are also very lucky to be host practice to a VetsNow 24/7 site, so we have a huge range of cases and opportunities. We are fortunate to have 2 Cert holders within the practice, and we are very open to offering and funding further development to our team members.

About Us

Risca is a well-established practice located in a small friendly town, with lots of local amenities close by. Our team is made up of 6 fantastic RVNS, 2 vets and 3 Support Staff. There are 3 consulting rooms, digital x-rays, ultrasound, high quality dental equipment including dental x-ray. Our Langstone branch is located just of the M4 corridor in Newport and is made up of 3 vets 7 nurses and 5 Support Staff. Langstone has recently been refurbished, to include separate dog and cat wards, Dental suite, along with X-ray/Ultrasound, flexible and rigid endoscopy, laparoscopy, harmonic scalpel and orthopaedic and spinal equipment. On site accommodation is available if required.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for someone who is well experienced, will be able to manage all 1st opinion situations without assistance, deal with day to day running of the practice, mentor our grads and work with our senior team in growing the business.
