The Role

We have an exciting vacancy for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Stapenhill to cover maternity leave. This is a part-time position of 37.5hrs a week including a share of evening and weekends. Alternative working hours would be considered but would this need to involve evening and weekend work. You will join a friendly and supportive team of 8 Vets and 7 Nurses and 1 SVN. Surgical caseload includes, neutering, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, and dentals. The role involves a variety of first opinion practice roles including monitoring anaesthetics, assisting with imaging using radiography and ultrasound, completing laboratory samples, nurse clinics and assisting Vets consulting. There will be limited nurse consults at our Stretton branch, however, this is currently on hold due to coronavirus.

The modern equipment at Stapenhill and Stretton practices include digital x-ray, ultrasound, and dental x-ray. We have two operating theatres plus three consulting rooms so therefore provide an all-round service.

Applicant Requirements

We're looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with Nurse clinic knowledge as well as an interest in nutrition, weight management and preventative healthcare. Because this role is at a branch, you will need to be aware of stock control and management. Our Burton-On-Trent branch is split over two locations; you will therefore need a driving license to commute between the branches for different shifts. The successful applicant needs to be a good communicator, trustworthy and a team player.
