The Role

We are looking for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the team as Head Veterinary Nurse at our fantastic hospital based in Richmond. We are a busy 24 hour hospital offering inpatient care, orthopaedic and laparoscopic surgery, endoscopy, laser, ultrasonography and a first opinion and referral service.

As a Head Veterinary Nurse, you will lead a talented and enthusiastic team of RVNs, SVNs and PCAs and share their passion for giving gold standard care to our patients.

The role will involve all aspects of nursing as well as the day-to-day running of the practice. This position provides you with the opportunity to use your initiative to promote new ideas and protocols.

Previous experience working in a small animal practice is required. This is a full time permanent position, covering 40 hours a week over 5 days. This shift pattern includes 1:4 full weekends (days off in lieu given).

There is no reception work involved in this role, as we have a strong team of receptionists at the hospital. On-call is also minimal for this role, as we have a specialist night team in place.

Salary and benefits:

Competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Skills and Experience

You must be a veterinary nurse who is registered with the RCVS.

The Branch

Medivet 24 Hour Richmond provides a range of services, including X-Rays, ECG and Endoscopy. As it is the 24 Hour hospital in this region, it regularly supports other practices in the area with their patients.

The practice is based a 7 minute drive away from the famous Kew Gardens and is a short drive from Richmond Park – the home of the Isabella Plantation gardens and free roaming deer! Chiswick Bridge is also a short walk away, which provides stunning views of the River Thames.
