Job Description

Southside Animal Hospital & Wellness Center in Anchorage, Alaska is seeking a full time Associate Veterinarian to join our collaborative team.

We are a full service, progressive, small animal facility and canine rehabilitation center, proudly serving pets and their owners since 1996. We appreciate giving back to our community through service to Search and Rescue and Police Department canines, as well as animal rescue organizations. Our 3-Veterinarian practice offers a diversity of general medicine, surgery, digital radiology, dentistry, and canine rehabilitation with one Veterinarian a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. We provide routine wellness care, in-house laboratory, digital dental and full body radiography, ultrasound, underwater treadmill and laser rehabilitation, general surgery, and orthopedics including TPLO surgery. We are open Monday-Friday with shortened hours on Saturday, with no on-call or after-hours requirements.

Southside Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced, caring, compassionate veterinarian who believes in team work and aspires to build long term relationships with clients and staff. The ideal candidate has strong general medicine skills, a passion for surgery, and a commitment for professional growth through continuing education. Our team supports our Associates to develop their interests in their profession. We offer a competitive salary, paid holidays and paid vacation, paid continuing education, paid dues and licenses, comprehensive health care benefits, and a 401k option. It is important to us all patients receive the same superior care we provide no matter the provider and to foster our high standard of team work, veterinarians are salaried with a production bonus of the doctor team as a whole, not on individual production.

Nestled between the ocean and snow-covered Chugach mountains, Anchorage is Alaska’s largest city, known for its fine dining, local craft breweries, theatres, golf courses, botanical gardens, and festivals. With a small-town feel, Anchorage is home to 120 miles of trail for running/biking/skiing and is a gateway to nearby mountains where you can explore glaciers, kayak, hike, fish, hunt, and enjoy many state parks. Alaska is a beautiful place to live and work. “The mountains are calling and I must go.” ~John Muir
