MAWS is a non-profit organisation, staffed by volunteers, which aims to improve the lives and health of domestic animals by providing free or low-cost veterinary services and educational programmes.
From our clinic in Maun, on the fringes of the Okavango Delta, we provide veterinary care to the animals of low-income individuals across Botswana. We run Botswana’s only CNVR (collect, neuter, vaccinate, return) operation: sterilising and vaccinating the region’s large feral dog and cat population.
We have sterilised and vaccinated tens of thousands of dogs and fitted reflective ear tags to thousands of donkeys to prevent night-time traffic accidents. We also reunite, rehome, and rehabilitate lost, found, and stray animals, and provide emergency treatment.
