The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed term Head RVN to join our Syston practice in Leicester for a fixed term of 9 months.

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

We are looking for a motivated and independent individual ideally with some management experience as a Head nurse or a confident RVN looking to take the next step in their career, you will be in charge of a small support staffing team.

As well as your day to day duties within practice caring for your patients and clients, you will have the drive and ambition to develop the practice optimising the client and patient experience, promoting safety while training, developing and leading the entire nursing team.

As an RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, you’ll already have good knowledge of how a dynamic, practice runs efficiently and effectively. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you’ll also take the initiative in patient welfare and have caring, thoughtful communication skills. Just as important are the leadership skills essential to enabling your team to work as one and look ahead to see how they can be even better.

This role is full time 40 hours per week with a fair share of weekends.

Skills and Experience

You must be a RVN registered with the RCVS.

The Branch

Medivet Syston has been newly refurbished, fully equipped with prep and dental area, operating theatre, lab, x-ray, ultrasound, separate kennels and cattery and wheelchair access. The practice is located just off Melton Road which has a few shops across the road from the practice.

Syston train station is only a few minutes’ walk from the branch, with a few bus routes which stop close to the practice. A46 and the A607 are also a vet short distance with street parking outside the hospital.
