The Role

We are seeking a friendly, dynamic Veterinary Surgeon to work in our Mossley 24 hour and Uppermill clinics (Ian McConnell Vet Practices)

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of small animal practice experience and be confident working sole charge. A client-orientated approach and excellent communication skills is a must, alongside the ability to work to a high standard both medically and surgically.

Salary and hours

This role works to a 4 day week with either 1:3 Saturday’s or 1:6 full weekends

Joining our national network of veterinary surgeons at Medivet, offers exceptional opportunities for career development while enjoying a very competitive salary package with accommodation and vehicle allowance. A generous £1500 CPD allowance is also designed to drive your progress with 3-days CPD leave and RCVS, VDS and BVA membership paid. 5 weeks annual leave allowance, plus blank holidays.

Skills and Experience

Joining our professional, personable team in the practice, you’ll deliver exceptional care by going beyond consulting to listen and empathising, putting patients and clients first, always.

As a qualified MRCVS, you’ll already have good experience gained in small animal practice. You’ll be competent in clinical examination and surgery and confident working sole charge or as part of the wider team. Sharing our values being trustworthy, caring and progressive, you will have all the softer skills essential to working effectively, building trusting relationships with your colleagues, harnessing our one team culture.

You will also display good communication skills and the desire to share your knowledge and skills by being an outstanding, positive example to others.

The Branch

This exciting opportunity has arisen due to Ian McConnell Vet practice in Mossley joining our Medivet family. Already being a 24 hr hospital the practice has become the main centre in the region providing 24 hour care for our surrounding clinics.

The clinic is well-equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, multiparameter monitors, endoscopy, laparoscopy, video otoscope, in house blood machines, separate night team for 24 hour care on site.

Linked with Medivet Uppermill there will be some consulting days at the branch practice on a fair rota basis.
