Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral and Emergency Hospital is seeking a surgeon to join our growing team.

DCVR’s team of specialists work together in a friendly, approachable, collaborative atmosphere and includes 7 specialists in internal medicine, critical care, neurology, oncology, and radiology. We are also a 24/7 emergency facility, staffed with internship trained clinicians and a board-certified critical care specialist, as well as highly proficient emergency technicians and assistants to care for our patients around the clock. We are a teaching hospital, offering rotating internships to up to 6 interns each year, helping us to stay on the cutting edge of medicine, and to keep teaching and educating in the forefront of what we do every day.

Our hospital is a spacious 12,500 square feet, with a layout that facilitates communication and efficient workflow. We are a fully equipped and state of the art facility with all of the bells and whistles including Esaote Vet-MR Express MRI, Phillips BV Endura fluoroscope, and Phillips Brillance 16 slice CT. A surgeon at DCVR would have the opportunity to collaborate with our other specialists in implantation of tracheal stents, ureteral and urethral stents, and subcutaneous ureteral bypass (SUBS), among other highly specialized procedures. We employ a full-time marketing and communications specialist to aid in referral management and to help you grow your clientele by fostering and supporting our relationships with our referring veterinarians and local community.

DCVR is located in Bowie, MD, conveniently located between Washington, DC, Annapolis and Baltimore, and providing easy access to the city, beach, and mountains where you can experience all four seasons! Enjoy the local cuisine or hike the 20 + miles of trails in the beautiful Patuxent Research Refuge! Bowie offers great shopping at the Bowie Town Center and access to many museums in or around Bowie, including the Belair mansion and stable museum, the Bowie Railroad museum and of course, the Smithsonian museums, which are just a quick drive from Bowie.
