The Opportunity:

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Surgical specialists or residency-trained/speciality board-eligible surgeons to join our team. You will also be working closely with four experienced board-certified surgeons further to develop the capability of our multidisciplinary specialist referral centre.

In our hospital, internal medicine and surgery departments work to create a seamless transition for case management.  The top priority is the best care for each patient.  That translates to cooperation between specialists to provide top-quality care.  Our specialists undertake clinical rounds every day with interns and nursing staff.  These rounds offer direct interaction with the specialists, keeping them in direct contact with cases.  Case transfers occur daily with direct communication between our clinical teams.

While we have on-site fully-staffed 24 hour care, we and are a primary access Emergency centre. Clinicians get to focus on referred patient care. We strive to achieve clinical excellence within a working environment that promotes and encourages innovation, collegiality and communication. While this is a permanent opportunity for employment, we are open to conversations about short or long-term contracts.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you must be a qualified companion animal surgical specialist or residency-trained and board eligible. It is important that you have completed a residency with the ACVS, ECVS, or the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and that your qualification will be eligible for Specialist Registration with the Australian Veterinary Board Council.
