This position is to cover the weekend after-hour commitments for 3 local small animal clinics, from the BMAH after-hours clinic in Leura. The caseload is very manageable for one on-call vet (average 3-4 consults per weekend and 1-2 hospital cases). This is a sole-charge position with an experienced nurse always on call. The nurse is on the premises on Sunday to help with inpatients and is available to transport critical cases to a 24hours facility if required. Back-up is also available from the local referring veterinarians where necessary.
Remuneration and conditions are flexible and can be modified to suit a candidates specific requirements. Payment may include a negotiable combination of set wage, workload dependant fees and accommodation. The number of weekends worked is also negotiable from 2-4/month. On call work may be supplemented with Saturday morning shifts at one of the subscribing clinics or weekday on call/daytime shifts.
The Blue Mountains is home to some of Australia’s best bushwalking, canyoning and climbing as well as many good restaurants, shops, mountain bike and horse riding trails. It is well serviced by rail and road allowing easy access to Sydney and the surrounding area.
