Referral Veterinary Assistant

Job Description

Vale Referrals are seeking two referral veterinary assistants to work closely with our referral clinicians in our multidisciplinary team. This is a really exciting position that is more than just an internship, whereby the successful applicant will help manage cases, scrub in and work closely with our referral clinicians and specialist nursing team.

Full support, mentoring and encouragement is given to these vital team members. This position is ideal for someone (new grad to experienced vet) who is looking to advance their surgical and medicine knowledge and skills, under the guidance of our referral team.

Vale is a multi-department business and expects all colleagues to treat each other with respect regardless of position and to promote teamwork and support at all times whilst providing excellent standards in patient and client care. Attendance of CPD and clinical clubs/discussion is expected in addition to meetings and clinical audit sessions. There may be opportunities to be involved with research projects.

We are a dynamic, collaborative team consisting of clinicians in internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, and diplomates in soft tissue surgery, dermatology and cardiology. We have a supportive team of interns and RVN’s to support you in your role.

This role would suit candidates who thrive working in an environment where they can develop and demonstrate their skills, excelling them into their future careers in the medical or surgical field. A high level of passion, enthusiasm and commitment to clinical work and patient care is necessary to achieve the most from your internship position.

A professional approach and appearance is expected at all times. Work should be carried out following practice protocols and adhering to health and safety standards (manual and training will be provided).

As a BAME and LGBT+ inclusive employer, we are keen to hear from candidates from all minority and diverse groups. As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
