Licensed Veterinary Technician- Surgery (Anesthesia)

NVS is a veterinary specialty hospital and 24/7 emergency hospital. We are located in a recently expanded 24,000 square foot hospital with digital radiography, computed tomography (CT), on-site magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, endoscopy, access to an on-site commercial laboratory, and more.

Requirements:
• Must have LVMT CVT, LVT, or RVT licensure and at least 1+ years of veterinary hospital experience
• Have a reasonably in-depth understanding of veterinary medicine and basic disease processes
• Have broad technical abilities (Phlebotomy, catheterization, patient restraint, radiographs, in-house lab, pharmacology, medication/fluid/oxygen administration, etc.)

Responsibilities:
• Formulate anesthetic and sedative protocols
• Calculate and pull up medications for anesthetic and sedated procedures
• Induction and maintenance of anesthesia
• Venipuncture and presurgical diagnostics in-house
• Troubleshoot complications during the perioperative period
• Assist in surgery receiving, surgery prep, and post-operation recovery
• Perform radiographs and CT scans with proper protocols
• Fill prescriptions and call into pharmacies
• Complete invoices and surgery reports
• Complete requisitions
• Contribute to the cleanliness of the surgery department
• Maintain the integrity of surgical equipment
• Assist in sterile processing
