Rochester Veterinary Hospital has an immediate opening for a licensed veterinary technician or experienced veterinary assistant with an opportunity for a sign-on bonus. This position is for an individual with a strong work ethic and commitment to the highest quality of patient care. This position requires the animal handling skills and work experience necessary to perform independently and the patience and professional attitude to be part of a high functioning team. This position requires experience in client education, patient history collection, running routine laboratory tests, prepping for surgery, post-op recovery, restraining animals, administering treatments and to perform calmly and professionally at all times. We have a friendly, team oriented staff that is wiling to train the right individual to join our family.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist DVM’s and other staff in the following:
• All aspects of veterinary care (i.e., history, treatment, surgery, pre- and post-operative care, emergency care, restraint).• Animal restraint, including work with dogs and cats, Animal treatment, Customer service• Paperwork and keeping detailed records of client visits, calls, and surgeries performed• Wrapping and sterilizing packs and other surgical supplies.• Disinfecting and sanitizing clinic and equipment routinely.• Maintaining and cleaning clinic and equipment routinely.• Other duties as needed.

Education and Qualifications: • Graduated from accredited program in 2 to 4 year school or previous work experience as a veterinary assistant .• Must have excellent customer service skills and patience.• Must have excellent attendance record.
