The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team. The position is full time (5 days a week) 8am till 6pm. 1 in 4 Saturday (9 til 2pm). Day off in lieu for weekend worked. No OOH. This is a maternity cover position with the potential to lead to a permanent position. Part time/job share applications will be considered. Clinical director role also considered for the right candidate.
The role will involve a mix of consults and ops each week, with 15 minute consult slots starting from 8.30am, in blocks spread throughout the day which give ample time to follow-up cases. A dedicated operating day at least once a week gives that ability to follow-up your own cases. Support from experienced vets within the practice and group is also available.
About Us
Chapelfield Veterinary Partnership is a five site, multi-species practice. This role is based at our Long Stratton branch, 10 miles south of Norwich. Recently refurbished, we have an operating suite of a central prep area with two operating theatres, radiography room and dental room plus separate dog and cat wards, with walk-in kennels available for our patients. We also have 3 large consulting rooms. In this surgery, facilities include digital radiography, ultrasound, orthopaedic operating kit with endoscopes and laser surgical unit available in other branches. We are based in rural South Norfolk, with access to the bustling lights of Norwich only 20 minutes, as well as the superb countryside, beaches and wildlife of Norfolk and Suffolk are never far away. London and Stansted are within 2 hours.
The team at Long Stratton consists of 7 vets (part time and full time, 1 x Medicine Cert, 1 x Surgical Cert, 1 x Ophthalmology Cert in training) enabled by 4 vet nurses (3 x RVN, 1 x SVN). Our 5 receptionists, 2 dispensers, 1 practice manager, 1 debt manager + farm animal vets occasionally wafting into the building, make a close-knit, hard-working team dedicated to providing the best for our clients (pets and humans).
