The Role

We are seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with at least six months’ UK small animal practice (or UK equivalent) experience to join our growing community and in return, we will provide strong mentorship and support to help you develop your career and get the most satisfaction from your job. This is a unique role that provides case diversity and the opportunity to gain experience working within a few different environments, this is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your skills and experience. W e have an excellent support structure in place and we take pride in our collaborative approach; you will have the opportunity to call upon our experienced vets for advice whenever you need it.

The role will mainly be supporting our Melbourn, Impington and Biggleswade practices within our St Ives region. You will be exposed to a variety of cases whilst having access to state-of-the-art technologies such as ultrasound, a digital x-ray system, endoscopy, and much more. The role will give you the opportunity to work alongside outstanding, experienced teams to learn and provide gold standard treatment.

Salary & Benefits:

Package up to £50,669 dependent on experience, to include:

– Competitive salary

– Accommodation allowance £7,800 per annum

– Vehicle or £2,500 vehicle allowance

– £1,500 CPD allowance with 3 days’ CPD leave and in-house CPD training

– VDS, RCVS and BVA fees paid

– 4 day working week plus 1 in 3 Saturdays

– 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays

We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.

The Branch

Medivet Biggleswade is a busy small animal first opinion practice which offers a wide range of complex diagnostic equipment and treatment options including endoscopy, laser, ultrasound, as well as access to laparoscopic spays, MRI and CT imaging. Our 2-3 vet team is led by Branch Partner Theo.

Medivet Melbourn is set in a lovely village in rural Cambridgeshire. Our 3-4 vet team is led by our Lead Vet Tom who has a s pecial interest in surgery, dermatology and geriatric pet health care.

Medivet Impington is a small and friendly practice situated in the countryside on the outskirts of Cambridge. The practice offers a full range of services, first-class facilities including new ultrasound and good operating facilities, and access to the most sophisticated treatment available. Our friendly team consists of 2.5 vets and a nursing team of 4.
