Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is currently seeking an 8 th full-time Surgeon to join us in 2021. Work with the best! The new GCVS hospital is 56,000 sq ft and has a 1.5 T MRI, 64- slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities as well as an Interventional Radiology Suite. GCVS has specialty practices in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation and Fitness, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Avian and Exotics, Cardiology, and Anesthesiology. In addition to our specialty services, GCVS operates a 24/7/365 emergency service within the specialty hospital.

The Surgery department at GCVS is thriving and will be ready to add an 8 th surgeon in 2021. Our facility is equipped with a mini C-Arm and Arthrex scope towers, dedicated surgery technicians with two VTS leading a team of 43 technicians and assistants.

Our Anesthesia department has two full-time Anesthesiologists with 3 Licensed technicians. In 2021 we are adding Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation to our specialty offerings as we seek to provide the very best patient care available in Veterinary Medicine. Additionally, we are now using dedicated Scribes in our surgery department during clinic days. By reducing our surgeon’s administrative time with these top-notch professionals, we continue in our relentless pursuit of excellence allowing our surgeons more time with their patients with the added benefit of improving their work-life balance. Our Diagnostic Imaging Department includes 4 radiologists, 4 specialty interns, and 27 support staff to provide the highest level of support for our team.

Other boarded specialists in 12 other departments are present to help provide comprehensive care to our patients. We enjoy the camaraderie between specialists that a large practice affords and support each other in the pursuit of practicing the highest quality veterinary medicine. Additionally, we have an active rotating and specialty internship program including 4 specialty interns in surgery. There are abundant opportunities to interact with the general practitioners in the area through monthly rounds meetings and our annual symposium which while virtual this year had 2500 participants!
