We are looking for a part time Veterinary Surgeon to round off the hard working and dedicated team we have at Portchester Vets. The position is 20 hours over 2 days, including every third Saturday morning 8:30am to 12:00 midday. The role includes a healthy mix of consulting and operating with no out of hours work required.
We are an exclusively small animal practice with a fantastic client base and an experienced, supportive nursing unit. We are a busy, friendly practice who thrive on client care and job satisfaction for the team. Dedication and working together is our ethos, and it is a collaborative and inclusive environment. Our support staff are wonderful and help provide the gold standard client experience that we aim for. The practice comes equipped with digital x-ray including dental, ultrasound, in house laboratory equipment including Idexx biochemistry and haematology analysers, flat screen microscope, K laser, bronchoscope, isolation ward and separate, distanced dog and cat wards.
We are very lucky to be located on the beautiful South Coast, with loads of fantastic options for walks in forests or beaches, or trip to some great nearby cities. The Isle of Wight is a short ferry trip away, and our staff enjoy various sports nearby such as sailing, paddle boarding, horse riding and many others. We are looking for an enthusiastic vet to join our hard working team and in return gain a great work life balance to be able to make the most of this fabulous area.
The ideal candidate would want to maintain our excellent level of veterinary care to our patients and clients, and help the team move the practice forward to our future successes. We are looking for a veterinary surgeon with MRCVS qualification or equivalent, with experience in small animal practice. You should be competent in most routine surgeries and general practice medicine cases. Some small periods of sole charge may be required, but support would always be available.
As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
