Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon with UK clinical experience. Ideally, we would be looking for someone with an interest in orthopaedics and exotics. The position will involve consulting, working up cases both medical and surgical and routine operations.

About Us

We are currently an RCVS accredited, Two Veterinary Surgeon soon to be three, small animal practice in Colchester that is located within easy access to London and the beautiful Essex coastline, just a stones throw from Mersea Island in fact! We have digital x-rays, endoscope, ultrasound, and all the usual toys. We are a small, kind, friendly team, with qualified veterinary nurses, animal care assistants and our own veterinary physiotherapist. We also have access to a mobile specialist cardiologist, ultrasonographer and orthopaedic surgeon allowing you to manage cases predominantly in house. However, we are also located within a reasonable distance from many excellent referral centres and have access to CT and MRI scanners locally. We have a varied case load including treating exotics and an interest in behavioural medicine. This has led to our fear free approach to patients in practice and we would want our new colleague to become familiar with this regime. We can provide tea, cake, and lots of fun if you join our quirky team! Our practice ethos is to be kind, caring, and compassionate to our patients, clients, and colleagues.

But also assisting where necessary to support other members of the team in their job roles too.

As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
