The Role

Looking for a new start with a lovely team in a fantastic area? We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon to cover both consultations and surgery. We have a very varied first opinion busy caseload with lovely, bonded clients who have been fantastic with us during this pandemic. We work a 4 day week 9-5:30/6:00 with paid breaks and a good hours lunch break. No timed consultations! Great public walks across the road from the practice for lunchtime dog walks (we have outside kennels for vets dogs if you need to bring them with you). We cover our own out of hours, equally shared 1 in 4, generally quiet on call with dedicated on call Nurse (Veterinary Surgeon not expected to stay at site), a mobile emergency phone and dedicated vehicle are provided for on call use. You always getMonday afternoonoff after weekend on call followed by a long weekend off.As a practice we are always willing to improve and take on new ideas. Future clinical director role for the right person.

We are a single site, 4 Veterinary Surgeon practice set in a quiet village just outside Skegness, in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside but a stone’s throw from beautiful coastline and nature reserves. We have all the equipment you would expect from a modern progressive practice and are always happy to invest! We thrive in a genuinely relaxed and happy working environment! No heavy commute to work and time to enjoy what's on offer! Great local schools and nurseries and extremely affordable housing! We have a very low staff turnover and locum Vets that have turned 7 weeks into 7 years and still come back to locum for us for the summer months to cover holidays and the busier period. We have a great group of skilled Nurses and Receptionists and are a nurse training centre. We believe that you spend a lot of time at work and should enjoy being there!

Applicant Requirements

We are hoping to hear from a Veterinary Surgeon ideally with some UK experience in a first opinion practice. Someone who is happy and confident with all routine surgeries and common emergency procedures such as Caesarean sections, an interest in ultrasound would be a bonus. No sole charge in the day but needs some confidence in ability to cope sole charge for OOH however back up is never far away if needed. We are looking for that friendly team player who enjoys chatting to clients and enjoys their job and who ideally is looking to place down some roots in the area.
