Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic General Practice Veterinary Surgeon to work across our hospital and 8 other branches based in Bristol and Cheltenham. This is a full-time role working 39.5 hours over 4 days. The working week is 08.30-18.30 with one weekday off each week. There are no out of hours or Bank Holiday work with this role as we are a host practice for Vets Now Bristol Clinic, but there is a share of the weekend day rota. There share is currently 3 weekends in 11, (2 are Saturdays only and 1 is Saturday and Sunday shift).

The role will involve a mixture of consults and operating time at both the hospital and the branches meaning that the role offers a lot of variety and you will work as part of a large but very close-knit team.

About Us

We have a lovely welcoming team across all 8 sites, run by an experienced team of Clinical Directors and Senior Veterinary Surgeons, many of which have been with us for over a decade. We are corporate owned but like to think that we put the "I" in IVC Evidensia. We have all the expected equipment including laparoscopy. Being a large group, there is always a huge amount of support available to help talk through cases with colleagues with certificates in Surgery, Cardiology, Small Animal Medicine, Feline Medicine, and many other interests such as behaviour, acupuncture and herbal medicine.
We have 14 Veterinary Surgeons and a large group of Veterinary Nurses and support staff with a wealth of experience. We have the equipment and experience to work up cases to a high standard, whilst all supporting each other and having fun along the way.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a veterinary surgeon with one year of post-graduation experience. We would like someone who is competent in all neutering, dental and routine surgical procedures. You will be organised and a good communicator with clients and colleagues. We ask for some flexibility with a variable weekday off each week and the role involves moving between all our 8 sites so a full UK driving licence and own transport is essential.
