The Role

We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our lovely small animal practice in West Derby. You will be providing high quality clinical care to all pets and an outstanding client experience, helping to create and maintain an efficient clinic. There will be a mixture of general surgery and consults each day with minimal sole charge. Working hours and rota detailed below.
· 4 weekdays (8:00am-7:00pm)
· 1:4 Saturdays (8:00am-12:30pm) time back in lieu
· 40 hours per week (in total)
· No OOH

We’re a supportive and friendly team of 4 Vets, 5 RVNs and 2 Client Care Coordinators who (in non-covid times) have regular social meetings outside of work. Whilst we have been unable to go out, we have run an in-house “bake off” competition instead. We are proud to be involved in collecting for homeless charities (for both dogs and humans) and for local food banks. Several team members are also involved in octopus for a preemie crochet charity, and many team members attend fitness classes together. Our caseload is varied, with a medical bias. Alex, our CD, sees lots of ophthalmology cases and second opinions for other White Cross practices. We also have two team members who are currently undertaking certificate study. The practice is equipped with dental radiography, digital X-ray, ultrasound, comprehensive in house haematology and biochemistry, multi parameter monitoring, bair-hugger, ecg, tonopen, diamond burr and a dental drill.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a motivated Veterinary Surgeon who can thrive in our high-quality practice. Confident and professional, you will be able to work with sole charge. You will relate to our core principles of quality, integrity, responsibility and growth, fitting seamlessly alongside our friendly practice teams as you work with team to provide a quality experience for pet owner and pets alike. The ideal candidate will be an experienced RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon, preferably from a similar role in a small animal practice setting. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential. A passion to deliver great clinical quality, caring for pets as if they were your own and a providing a fantastic client service are the standards we strive for.
