The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team here at Kingsway Vets to provide maternity cover for a period of 12 months. There is a large and varied case load of both medical and surgical cases, mainly dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Duties are split between consulting, operating, work ups, hospital/inpatient care and out of hours duties. Sole charge will be required during out of hours. Postgraduate studies in all areas are encouraged and supported. Details of hours and rota below.
• 4/5 days per week
• Core working day 8.30am – 5.30pm
• Vet Rota 1:7 (Kingsway operate their own out of hours with nursing staff on site 24/7)
About Us
Kingsway is a RCVS accredited small animal veterinary hospital based in Skipton, North Yorkshire, a market town in the Yorkshire Dales. We have provided veterinary care for over 80 years, successfully combining a traditional ethos of care with progressive modern medicine. We are proud to be a referral centre for orthopaedics, cardiology and soft tissue surgery. Our purpose-built facilities include an in-house lab, ECG, digital x-ray, rigid and flexible endoscopy, ultrasound with colour flow Doppler and 24 hour on site nursing care.
Our team are professional and caring. You will be supported by multi-disciplinary certificate holders and because of the skills within the team most cases remain in our hospital without the need for external referral.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon with experience to join our team. You will be confident in performing routine surgery e.g. castrates, spays, lump removal, dentals and extractions. Skilled at communicating with clients and colleagues and share our passion for excellent client and patient care. You will be able to work within our busy team to provide the top-quality veterinary care that we are proud of. Confidence with sole charge OOH shifts is expected.
