Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join us at Abbeymoor Vets. We are a busy small animal, two branch practice covering North and South Sheffield. The role will include a mixture of both consult and surgical work, case work up and client communication. We would consider full-time and part-time applicants for this role. There are no out of hours attached to this post but there will be 1 in 3 Saturday consults. You will work closely alongside our receptionist team to deliver a first-class customer service experience. The ideal candidate should be committed to providing exceptional patient treatment and care. Working days and hours detailed below;

About Us

Here at Abbeymoor we are a team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 4 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 2 Student Veterinary Nurses, 5 Receptionists, 4 Admin/Support staff and 1 Domestic. We are team dedicated to supporting CPD and are lucky enough to have a Veterinary Surgeon who carries out acupuncture, another with a Certificate in Behaviour and a Certificate in Medicine. We work hard to be part of our local community and support several charities including Cats Protection and Guide Dogs for the Blind along with raising awareness for Support Dogs, Friends of Ferals and Street Paws.

Across our two sites we have access to excellent facilities and equipment including a full operating theatre, digital x-ray, in-house laboratory, dental suite, including dental radiography, and ultrasound facilities. We have the added benefits of being able to offer clients extra services such as behavioural consults, acupuncture and dedicated nurse consults. Abbeymoor is also a RCVS accredited General Practice at Halifax Road. Our Abbey Lane branch is currently undergoing refurbishment.

Applicant Requirements

The position is open to a RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon who is confident taking consultations and performing routine surgery. Someone with a certificate in surgery who is interested in developing the range of surgical procedures performed in house would be ideal. For the right candidate there is the chance for career progression into a Deputy Clinical Director position in the future. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, confidence in talking to the general public and be a team player. The ability to have fun and enjoy a relaxed working

atmosphere is equally important. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
