The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our dedicated team here at Mearley Vet Group. The role will be predominantly small animal based however, if the right applicant wished to further their equine experience or perhaps coming from a mixed or equine background wished to continue equine work, we would be happy to incorporate this into the post. A normal working day would consist of a mix of consult and surgery work. We operate at our Accrington and Clitheroe branches on a daily basis and the rota allows our vets to receive a variety of work across our branches. Pre Covid, we offered clients routine home visits, which is something we hope to resume when restrictions allow however, these are not routinely done at this time.

Although we do have an equine caseload this would be your choice to, or not to, be involved with. We see a good mixture of small animal consultations and surgeries including routine, preventative care and some ECC, we even see some wildlife from time to time. Our sites are well maintained, and the buildings are light and spacious.
The practice is RCVS accredited and clinical standards are exceptionally high. We are also really proud to be a nurse training practice. Our two main sites are well equipped with full diagnostic and surgical facilities, incorporating in house lab, diagnostic ultrasound, digital radiography, dental machines and endoscopy. We have a really wonderful client base and lovely patients who you will grow to know well during your time at Mearley Vets, some of our clients have been visiting us for many years! One of our amazing clients even makes us the most delicious homemade cakes every two weeks. How lucky are we!
Work/life balance is important to us and our team, so we offer a great rota. During your spare time there is lots for you to enjoy locally! We are based in a picturesque location making outdoor activities such as dog walking, hiking, running or horse riding even more enjoyable!
