The Role
Due to expansion, we are looking for 2 full time Veterinary Surgeons to join our team. The roles will cover 40 hours per week across either 4 or 5 days. There will be a mixture of consults only days and operating days. Surgical experience is essential. Whilst you will be joining a large team, you must be confident to work solely at times where required. You will be fully supported by our experienced veterinary nurses and reception teams.
About Us
We care greatly for mental health wellbeing and try to ensure you have a healthy work life balance. Out of lockdown we encourage the Unicorn team to join in with team building exercises such as yoga or paddle boarding (and Zoom quiz nights during lockdown!). We are a fun and family orientated team with a mixture of experienced vets and nurses. Within the team we hold a variety of certificates so help will always be available when needed.
Unicorn Vets are spread across three branches. We have a branch in Southampton called the Park branch with a local bus and train route close by, another branch is our Fairfield branch. This is located in Fair Oak, Eastleigh and again has local bus routes close by. Our third branch is in Ashurst, in the heart New Forest with the Ashurst train station and scenic walks and nature just a stone’s throw away from the branch. Each branch has Idexx blood machines within a designated lab area, X-rays, ultrasounds, blood pressure machine, tonopen, endoscope and an ECG.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a positive and friendly candidate who has experience to join our Unicorn team. You must be confident with sole charge and small animal surgery including small furries. You will be a team player happy to pitch in with all manner of practice responsibilities.
