The Role

We are looking for a first opinion Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team. Duties will include consultations, general surgery, diagnostics, x-ray, ultrasound and lab work. We offer the ability for full case responsibility as good case continuity is encouraged however, support is always available if needed. This is a varied role where no 2 days are ever the same. Working days/hours detailed below.
· 44 hours per week (worked over 4 days)
· 1:4 Saturdays
· No OOH

About Us

Gilmore Vets is situated in a beautiful character building in Standish town centre. Our facilities include, in house laboratory, dental machine, digital x-ray, digital ultrasound, fluid pump, blood pressure machine and we are gradually adding to this from our extensive wish list! We predominantly care for small animals but our contribution to rescue work and wildlife care is important to us, regularly helping hedgehogs, wild birds and occasionally foxes. We’re a first opinion practice but regularly invite visiting specialists in to enhance our service. Our focus is on the people, it’s a fabulous supportive and cohesive team striving to do their very best for every animal we see. We are a team of 1 Clinical Director, 3 Vets, 7 Nurses, 1 VCA, 1 SVN, 2 front of house and 1 PM. We get on well as a team and support each other as much as possible. We have several amazing bakers on the team, so we are never short of delicious treats or warm drinks!

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, who is confident with consulting and has experience in dealing with customers. A good understanding in the different aspects of unassisted general surgery, excellent interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude is a must. A passion for providing gold standard care and a good sense of humour is essential. Our management team has a dedicated focus to try and ensure that the team are valued, happy and able to put their training to full to use.
