The Role
We are looking for a part time Veterinary Surgeon with some experience behind them to replace a retiring colleague. There are no OOH duties with this role. Weekend rota is a 1 in 4 Saturday morning only. Sole charge with RVN support. Weekday shifts would be a minimum of 2 full days (20 hours) but total hours are negotiable. There would be a pro-rata share of operating time and the remainder being consults. We have 15 min appointments with time allocated for catch-up/phone calls and last appointment 45mins before end of paid shift.
About Us
We are 100% small animal practice on the outskirts of Kilmarnock. We are close to major road networks, easily commutable from Glasgow and have car parking available. We are a small close knit team with a passion for patient and client care. We are an ISFM Silver accredited practice and hold the IVC Patient Safety Award. We have lovely clients, a high uptake of preventative healthcare plans and a good proportion of insured pets. We would be supportive of any professional development plans that mirror our vision for the expansion of our available services and the quality of care we can provide to our patients. We have a brand new full IDEXX lab suite in-house, digital x-ray (no dental x-ray yet but planned) and ultrasound machine. We make good use of our RVN's knowledge and skills and are expanding our nurse clinics.
Applicant Requirements
You must be comfortable with sole charge, routine operations and dentistry. A preference/interest in internal medicine/ultrasound/cardiology would be preferable but not essential. As a practice we do not see many small furries or exotics.
