The Role
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our established multi-award-winning team in this single-site, small animal veterinary hospital. We are a busy first opinion practice with a varied caseload and we undertake referrals in; internal medicine, laparoscopy, radiology, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, acupuncture, emergency & critical care and we have equipment to support oncology, surgical (soft tissue and orthopaedic), diagnostic imaging and medical services, offering opportunities for progression in a number of areas according to interest. We operate a 24-hour emergency service for our own patients and on behalf of local practices. Details of working days/hours detailed below for Full Time position
• 1 in 14 overnight residential duties (with time off in lieu)
• An average 4.5 day/40.75-hour week inclusive of on-call commitments
• Working shifts (8.30am-6.30pm, 8.30am-1.30pm, 1.30pm to 6.30pm or 12.00pm to 10.00pm and duty shifts of 6.30pm to 9.00am)

About Us
Our practice first opened in King’s Lynn in 1984, moving to our current premises in 1990. Our multi-award-winning small animal Veterinary Hospital is accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) and we have been accredited as ‘Outstanding’ in all six of the RCVS awards. We are also an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly practice. Situated just 90 minutes from London with easy transport routes by train, and close to the beautiful North Norfolk Coast, our success reflects our good diagnostic work-up and treatment, communication and client care. Our high specification of both facilities and equipment help us support professional development including; Storz video endoscopy and otoscopy, laparoscopy, vascular sealing device and harmonic scalpel, digital radiography, fully equipped dental suite, colour-flow doppler ultrasound, capnography & ventilators, slit lamp and in-house laboratory. We have 6 Advanced Practitioners and certificate holders in; Small Animal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, Ophthalmology and Small Animal Surgery and you will be supported by an experienced and friendly team of 12 RVNs, 13 SVNs and 13 support staff. We share expertise day to day in ward rounds, case reflection meetings and at regular in-house training sessions to ensure excellence in our clinical standards and continual development. Applicant Requirements
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a team of dedicated and motivated colleagues who provide a clinically advanced, personal service for their clients and their pets. We are looking for a Certificate holder or Diplomat. Further Certificate studies are supported and encouraged, and our referral service will provide access to a more advanced caseload.
