The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join our team of caring and professional vets and nurses who provide the very best of care to companion animals. The is a full-time role working approximately 36 hours during the week plus a share of OOH rota. 1 in 5 weekends on call (practice closed except for Sat am) and a share of weekday on calls equating to approximately 1 night every 2 weeks. We strive to provide the very best of care to companion animals from our 2 purpose-built surgeries between the Lakes and the Dales.

About Us

Here at Westmorland Veterinary Group we have two purpose-built surgeries between the Lakes and the Dales that are fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology offering a wide range of medical and surgical treatments. Digital radiography, endoscopy/bronchoscopy, modern operating theatres, in house lab and ultrasound scanners at both sites. We are a 10 small animal vet team as part of a 17 vet mixed SA and FA practice – SA and FA run as separate clinical teams. We have a team of 10 nurses across 2 sites. Certificate holders in cardiology, orthopaedics, Cert AVP and master’s in animal behaviour. We are located in the South Lakeland between the Southern Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales – a stunning area that is also within easy reach of other areas as we are located close to the M6 and other travel links.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for an experienced SA Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in surgery. Opportunities for progression within the practice exist for the right candidate looking for a long-term role. We are looking for a hardworking, friendly and relaxed SA clinician to join our team to deliver an excellent standard of clinical care in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment in a beautiful part of the country.
