The Role
Oaklawns Veterinary Surgery require a full time Veterinary Surgeon to join four other vets in a busy mixed practice. 1 in 5 weekend rota with good support, providing on call out of hours service. Experience preferred. All mod cons including digital x-ray, ultrasound scanners, haematology and biochemistry analysers, etc. Mixed practice so needs to be able to carry out duties on both the small animal and large animal side of things as rota will vary.

Oaklawns Veterinary Surgery is a first opinion, mixed practice located in Carlow Town, Co. Carlow, in the South East of the Republic of Ireland. Carlow is a popular commuter so the role may also suit someone living in Dublin City to the North East, and Waterford City to the South. The practice is a mixed practice, predominantly a small animal practice, with the large animal continually growing and developing. John Brophy MRCVS is the Clinical Director and currently leads a strong team of four vets, one nurse and four support staff.
Applicant Requirements
The successful candidate will be a qualified Veterinary Surgeon with good experience of all animal care. Good knowledge of large animals in the treatment of cows, calves and sheep. Experience handling horses also a benefit. Experience with handling small animals for clinical examination, vaccinations, diagnoses, etc.
