The Role

Here at Priory Vets we have a fantastic opportunity available, to join our friendly, passionate, 7 Vet team. This is a unique opportunity for a Vet Surgeon who feels comfortable with most routine/ first opinion procedures to develop not only your own skills, but those of your colleagues.
Our days are split between, consulting, surgeries and ECC. No two days are the same! We do also have an ambulance service for conducting home visits. Preventative health care and high standards of care at all times are two things that we strongly believe in! We are big on interests and encourage professional development. Throughout our group sites we have certificate holders in surgery & exotics.
Being based in a busy seaside town, we have many fantastic, bonded clients who have visited us for many years. We also have clients visiting us as a one off when on holiday in the area.
We offer a good work/life balance rota:

  • Four days per week
  • Some OOH's work -but very manageable -(one night every two weeks, one weekend in 3 months)
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays mornings.

About Us

Priory Vets have 3 sites and a further associate site. Our Bridlington practice is our main site and is a busy practice with 2 consulting rooms & one nurse consulting room. Our Bridlington clinic is well established and runs out of a stunning grade II listed, character building. We also have two smaller branch sites, one in the village of Beeford and a renovated, light surgery in Driffield. We have superb equipment across our three sites including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray, dental machine, Ourinhouse Lab machines are idexxcatalyst and procyte.
Our caseload includes caring for Small animals, Small furries, Exotics, Avians, Wildlife and even the odd seal! We are also really proud to work with local charities and rescues! We were established 70 years ago and are a dedicated Veterinary Group offering care across East Yorkshire.
There is so much to do and enjoy in your spare time in and around Bridlington! We are also just a short commute or train ride from many major cities such as; Hull, York and Leeds.
Our team work hard and we really believe in supporting each other! Over our three sites our team consists of 7 knowledgeable Vets, 7 experienced RVNs, 2 dedicated Nursing assistants as well as a fantastic, friendly client care team! We have an array of experience levels within our team as well as some long serving team members who have been with us for 10, 15 and even 20 years.
We understand joining a new team can sometimes be a little daunting but here at Priory Vets you will be made to feel very welcome! We pride ourselves on having a friendly welcoming team in and out of work. The team often socialize outside of work, and take part in team bonding. At times we are more like family then co-workers! The team in their spare time can often be found attending local quizzes, running charity marathons or even trying to crack escape rooms!

Applicant Requirements

We are ideally lookingfor an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team and we are open to full and part time applications.
We could potentially offer a roving role between our 4 sites.
We could offer support for a Vet Surgeon who is able to conduct consultations unaided but would like support with building confidence with more advanced surgeries.
Due to our array of modern equipment and keen drive to encourage personal development, we make a great work place for a candidate wishing to study towards a certificate.
We do have a range of orthopaedic equipment for a candidate with interest in surgery.
You will be keen to mentor & support others too.
You will be looking to join a team who enjoy discussing cases and you will enjoy a varied andat times fast paced caseload.
You will be comfortable with most routine/ first opinion procedures to develop not only your own skills, but those of your colleagues.
