Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a full time Veterinary Surgeon, preferably with a few years’ experience to support our clinical director and junior vet. We have a varied workload and a loyal client base. The ideal candidate must have experience in all aspects of routine first opinion practice, and any areas of interest will be supported and encouraged. Currently our vets work 4 days a week and 1 Saturday morning in 3, and there is no on-call or out-of-hours as we have a dedicated night clinic nearby. The role also has the potential for career progression to become the Clinical Director.

About Us

We are a small, friendly team – several of us having been here for many years! We are located in a seaside town, which has various attractions and the all-important seafront promenade, complete with many restaurants and great views. Our surgery has digital x-ray, ultrasound and in-house laboratory equipment as well as a dedicated surgical room, separate kennels and cattery and upstairs staff room.

Applicant Requirements

We would like an experienced veterinary surgeon who is comfortable with routine surgeries and dentistry. A specialist interest is desirable as there is potential to develop this within our surgery, particularly with orthopaedics as we have a range of orthopaedic equipment here. A good sense of humour and willingness to become part of a team is essential, as is the ability to engage with a client base that has a lot of interesting characters.
