Job Description

The Role

We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team working 4 days a week plus OOH and weekends. On a typical day, you will arrive at 8.20am to check any in-patients and attend clinical rounds. Consults begin at 9am with a break midway through the session which finishes at 12.30pm. You will then either consult from 2pm-6pm or from 3pm-7pm with a break in the middle of the session. Each day, one vet will be on day duty- seeing emergency cases and dealing with in-patients to allow maximum focus on this more intensive scenarios. One vet will operate from 9am until 4pm, with a lunch break, before having a short consult session. Your time will be split between the main Bognor site and one branch surgery.

Downland Veterinary Group is situated between the Southdown's and the beautiful southern coast, providing an idyllic location for a range of outdoor activities. We are conveniently placed to several major airports and ferry terminals. We are a group of 12 clinics spread across three counties. Extensively equipped, and nurse training practices, means you can work the highest of standards. We have certificate holders in surgery, orthopaedics, medicine, cardiology and imaging; with other colleagues who have a special interest in dermatology and oncology. We are a very progressive, clinically focussed team who strive to provide the best care to our patients whilst helping develop individual's interests and skills.

Across the group we have 170 staff with 33 veterinary surgeons. The Bognor clinic, you will be part of a 10 vet team with your time split between the main Bognor sit and one branch surgery. We have highly skilled, clinically focussed staff who strive to constantly improve the service and level of care that we offer. Clinical rounds each day helps to bound the team and improve everybody's knowledge and understanding.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a friendly, team-orientated vet to join our progressive team. Ideally you will have experience but personality and clinical appetite are the key characteristics.
