We now have an opening to join our friendly team in Speyside. Whilst we can be flexible with regards full or part time working, a willingness to participate in the out of hours rota is a must. We always have two vets on call, and this approximates to 1 in 4 nights/weekends (with time off in lieu for full time vets).
We are a mixed practiced (approx. 50% small, 35% large, 15% equine) situated in a beautiful part of Scotland with easy access to local town facilities. We’re also only approximately an hours drive from Aberdeen and Inverness airports. The area offers good schools and a great quality of life, with copious hill walking, skiing and sandy beaches nearby. Our friendly supportive team consists of 7 full time vets and 3 part time, with a range in experience from new graduates to over 35 years. Two of us are still in our first job after 5 and 10 years, and two have returned having been elsewhere. We also have a fantastic team of nurses and support staff, and a lovely loyal client base (both large and small animal) who we appreciate a lot. We have two sites, our mixed practice operating from Aberlour and our small animal branch in Fochabers. We have good facilities at both branches including in house haematology/biochemistry, video endoscopy and ultrasound.
This position would best suit someone with a bit of experience under their belt, but support could be provided to the right new graduate. Ideally, we would like a mixed Veterinary Surgeonwith a keen interest in small animal work but could accommodate most preferences (including small animal only) for the right candidate. We strongly encourage CPD and the development of special interests and would be happy to fund advanced certification.
As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
