Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

About Us

We are a progressive Small Animal practice based on the leafy edge of the cathedral city of Lichfield. Our well-equipped and purpose-built Tier 3 Hospital is supported by 3 branches, which provides a varied medical and surgical caseload with plenty of opportunities to work up cases with full support if needed. We are very lucky to be supported by a large and experienced nursing team. We have lots of the latest toys, including a top of the range ultrasound machine, rigid and flexed endoscopy and laparoscopy equipment. Private healthcare, funded and encouraged CPD, including certificates, are part of a competitive package.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, friendly and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon to join our excellent team. The rota is split so half of your time will be based at the hospital and half at a branch, allowing you to build your own client base at each site. We are proud to offer our own OOH to our own clients and neighbouring practices, which is evenly shared. Opportunity and funding for a certificate is fully supported.

Applicant Requirements

Ideally, we would like a veterinary surgeon with experience of working in general practice in the UK. We are however fully set up to support a new or recent graduate, with many of the vets still in their first job! A certificate would be ideal to join our 2 other cert holders, but this is not essential. A well-rounded veterinary surgeon who has an excellent patient-centric bedside manner is far more important to us.

As a Disability Confident Employer we are keen to hear from candidates with disabilities and long term health conditions, and would be happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments needed during the recruitment process.
