Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) is currently seeking a third Criticalist to join us in our state-of-the-art 57,000 SF facility. Work with the best! GCVS currently has specialty practices in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Allergy, Avian and Exotics, Cardiology, and Anesthesiology. In addition to the specialty services, GCVS operates a 24/7/365 emergency service within the specialty hospital. With a 1.5 T MRI, 64 slice CT, a Varian Halcyon radiation therapy system capable of advanced radiation therapy modalities as well as an Interventional Radiology Suite and a fully equipped ICU we have all the toys you need.

The Critical Care department at GCVS is thriving and looking to hire a criticalist to provide 7 day a week coverage of our critical care patients, as well as directly influencing the structure and growth of the service. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and a team player that can contribute to our high standard of patient care, client service, and collaboration with specialists and local referring veterinarians.

Our critical care support staff is highly skilled and genuinely cares about each other and their patients. We have 24/7 care for hospitalized patients, continuous ECG/pulse oximetry monitoring, high flow oxygen capability, nasal and Snyder cage oxygen therapy, as well as blood product and plasma transfusion therapy. A full-service in-house laboratory allows for immediate results to include complete blood counts, manual differentials, chemistry profiles, PT/PTT testing, urinalysis, and multiple SNAP tests ie BNP, cortisol, cPLI, etc.

GCVS currently has specialty practices in Surgery, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Dentistry and Oral Surgery, Diagnostic Imaging, Animal Rehabilitation and Fitness, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Dermatology and Allergy, Avian and Exotics, Cardiology, and Anesthesiology. We enjoy the camaraderie between specialists that a large practice affords, and support each other in the pursuit of practicing the highest quality veterinary medicine. Additionally, we have an active intern program, and there are abundant opportunities to interact with the general practitioners in the area through monthly rounds meetings and our annual symposium.
