The Role

Our Veterinary Nurse position offers the best of both worlds for those nurses who enjoy the excitement and progression offered by ECC cases, but who are not able to work full night shifts. The role includes handover from the day Registered Veterinary Nurses to assist in ongoing surgical procedures, incoming emergency cases and nursing of inpatients. You will ensure the clinic is ready for the following day’s procedures. There may also be occasional nursing consultations, reception duties where required and some administrative duties.

We are keen to offer family-friendly options, so part time/job share hours are also a possibility. Talk to us about the hours you can work (4pm or 6:30pm starts possible)

About Us

We are a well-established small animal practice consisting of a friendly and supportive team of 15 nurses, 11 vets, 6 receptionist and our practice manager. We have many modern facilities including in house laboratory, digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, multi-parameter monitoring and laser therapy. We are an RCVS Accredited practice, ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic and have been voted “Best Scottish Vet” in 2018, 2019 and 2020. We’re just 40 minutes from Edinburgh and Glasgow respectively, so easy to reach from anywhere in the Central belt.

Applicant Requirements

Experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse required, able to work sole charge for a few hours each evening. Experience dealing with emergencies and OOH care are an advantage. This role is dealing mainly with assisting emergency procedures and dealing with inpatients, however, the candidate should be confident dealing in all areas of nursing.
