Southern Veterinary Partners is a veterinarian owned and managed regional network of animal hospitals with the common goal of providing the highest quality veterinary care to companion animals.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, Southern Veterinary Partners pursues partnerships with likeminded veterinarians to build our network of high quality and service-oriented animal hospitals.

We are looking for a Talent Specialist to join our recruiting team and drive candidate pipeline for critical support staff and home office roles. This person will work closely with leaders and an amazing team to drive talent sourcing and pipelining. This role will have an opportunity to help SVP build and grow its sourcing capabilities.

A Day in the Life of the Talent Specialist:

  • Create innovative and resourceful sourcing strategies to find and attract top passive and active talent.
  • Accurately post jobs on all available talent platforms.
  • Precisely screen applicant resumes based on hiring managers’ requirements.
  • Actively source candidates utilizing resume databases, networks, social media and other relevant resources.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and Human Resources, and keep all parties informed and engaged with the progression of recruitment for the roles.
  • Perform administrative duties related to the onboarding of new hires, reporting and communications.
  • Assist with overall recruiting goals.
  • Participate in job fairs, information sessions and special recruiting events as needed.
  • Maintain the integrity of recruiting reports and applicant tracking.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of recruiting experience is preferred.
  • Experience reviewing resumes, posting jobs on job boards and sourcing active and passive talent in multiple industries; knowledge of Boolean and LinkedIn searches and an understanding of current industry trends, best practices and employment labor laws.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Applicant Tracking Systems.
