In early 2019 we moved to a brand-new state of the art facility, offering four state of the art theaters, one of which is dedicated to orthopaedic surgeries and another dedicated to soft tissue surgery. We can perform fluoroscopic studies in our theaters or within our radiology suite. We have full in-house laboratory facilities, comprehensive diagnostic imaging including two ultrasound rooms, digital X-ray, a 128 Slice GE CT scanner and we are planning for an MRI installation in 2020.
Our specialist internal medicine and radiology services provide support to the specialist surgeons to ensure the best quality of care is provided to our patients. We also offer a veterinary rehabilitation service as an adjunct to the surgical service, boosting the client experience and providing gold standard of patient care from start to finish.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking expressions of interest from a surgeon who is looking for an adventure and wants to work in our team. You will also be working closely with two experienced board-certified surgeons; Dr Craig Bailey who has led our surgical service at North Shore Specialist Centre for the last 14 years and Dr Alastair Franklin who has trained and worked in London and Sydney since 2001.
We also have two surgical interns, and a team of specialist trained surgical nurses who have many years of experience in anaesthesia nursing, as surgical assistants and radiology nurses, while providing a very high standard of in-patient care.
In this role, you will provide a specialist referral surgical service and consult to our extensive general practice network across Sydney and Australia. We strive to achieve clinical excellence within a working environment that promotes and encourages collegiality and communication. While this is a permanent opportunity for employment, we are open to conversations about short or long-term contracts.
About you:
To be successful in this role, it is important that you are a qualified companion animal specialist surgeon or are residency trained. It is important that you have been accepted by the ACVS, ECVS, or a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and that your qualification will be eligible for Specialist Registration with the Australian Veterinary Board Council. You are welcome to email us for more information about this, or you can refer directly to our guidelines of the Veterinary Registration Board NSW.
Above all else, however, we value someone who is a team player; committed to our patients and is keen to be a part of our specialist team.
The Benefits:
You will be rewarded with a generous salary & benefits that is reflective of the experience you bring to the position. We will support you with visa application, Australian Veterinary Registration and provide you with tailored relocation support to suit your situation.
