The Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team in Carlisle, Cumbria. This role is open to full time and part time applications working 33 hours (part time) 38 hours (full time) per week over 4 days with 1 in 2 Saturday mornings and no out of hours. Our senior Veterinary surgeon will perform first opinion consultations, routine surgery, and more complex surgical cases. You will also be expected to provide clinical support, guidance and advice to the Veterinary Nursing team and less experienced Veterinary Surgeons.

About Us

Eden Vet Centre is a dedicated companion animal practice located on the North of Carlisle. We have an excellent Veterinary Nursing team of 4 and provide our own out of hours cover with an on-call Veterinary Nursing rota. We are outgrowing our premises and anticipating expanding our facilities within the next 12 months. We have a sister mixed practice (Border Vets) in Longtown whose mixed Veterinary Surgeons provide our on-call rota and provide some clinical hours during the week.
We have a two Veterinary Surgeons working exclusively at Eden Vet Centre, one of whom performs consultations only leaving a higher surgical case load for the other Veterinary Surgeons. Our culture is to provide the highest level of care for patients and clients by communicating the most appropriate treatment options for their circumstances. Our clinical staff are very accessible to our clients and we have a reputation for excellent care and service.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a confident Veterinary Surgeon who is experienced in companion animal practice. A certificate holder would be welcome and a candidate with leadership skills or leadership potential would be advantageous.
