The Role

We are currently looking for a Senior Surgery Nurse to join our friendly team in Ringwood, Hampshire. This is a full-time role working an average of 40 hours over 5 days with a 1:5 on call rota (including weekend). As a senior surgery nurse, you will work alongside our surgery and anaesthesia team, comprising both dedicated and rotating surgery nurses and veterinary care assistants. A varied caseload including orthopaedics, neurosurgery, soft tissue, cardiac surgical intervention, and imaging, allows the chance to further your anaesthesia and surgical skills. The role also involves supporting the Head of Department and deputising in their absence, supervising, and organising the surgical nursing team and assisting with the running of the day. Applicants should have a high attention to detail and be willing to contribute to the training, supervision and development of veterinary nurses, interns, student veterinary nurses and veterinary care assistants within the department.

Applicant Requirements

• RCVS Veterinary Nursing Qualification
• Advanced Nursing Qualifications – Certificates/Diploma/VTS
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of surgical andanaesthesia nursing
• Experience in leading a team
