The role will include a wide variety of surgical and medicine cases, inpatient nursing care and nurse clinics including geriatric and obesity. At least one morning a week will be spent in theatre, we usually have a busy daily operating list. Registered Veterinary Nurses will be expected to help and support the SVNs in their training. We can offer variable shifts between 8am – 7pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with Saturday mornings on a rota basis. CPD is encouraged and funded. Individual interests supported and encouraged. We are a busy, 100% small animal, first opinion practice in South Lincolnshire. The practice is close to both Cambridgeshire and Norfolk borders with easy access to London by train. The single site practice has been in Spalding for over 100 years. It has an excellent reputation within the town with a loyal, bonded client base. We are RCVS Accredited (General Practice), ISFM silver cat friendly and a Nurse Training Practice.
Our small team of 3.5 vets are supported by 5 Nurses and 2 receptionists. We work closely together, to ensure the best care for our clients and their pets. The practice is well equipped including: Digital x-ray, ultrasound, In-house Idexx blood machines plus coagulation and blood typing, blood pressure and pulse oximetry monitor, tonometry and slit lamp.
Candidate must be a Qualified Veterinary Nurse (RVN), ideally with some post-qualification experience. Must be able to confidently handle animals, assist in theatre and monitor GAs. Should have experience handling emergency cases. Clinical coaching experience, or a willingness to train as a Clinical coach would be advantageous.
