The Role

We are currently looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly team in Liverpool, Merseyside. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week over 5 days with 1 in 3 Saturdays with time back in lieu in the form of a half day. Our shifts are between the hours of 8am-7pm Monday-Friday and Saturdays 8.30am-1pm only. Vets Now cover our out of hours nights, weekends and Bank Holidays and we run a midnight check inpatient rota in the event of any stable patients remaining in for IVFT.

You will be involved in all things nursing such as theatre, inpatient care, lab work and nursing consultations. No two days are the same with a variety of cases, surgical and medicine. You will be joining a friendly and welcoming team of 2 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 1 Veterinary Care Assistant and 1 dedicated Receptionist. We have 8 Veterinary Surgeons who work between our 2 branches with experience ranging from new graduate to 34 years! We often have visiting specialists who perform cardiac work up’s, ultrasonography investigations and soft tissue surgeries.

About Us

Our branches are both based in Liverpool, North Liverpool in Fazakerley and South Liverpool in Wavertree, Wavertree being your main branch. We have numerous loyal clients who still remember the days of John and Rita Adams! We have General Practice accredited RCVS practice standards and wish to become ISFM Cat Friendly accredited in the near future! We as a group have a passion for making our patients’ visits as positive and free from stress as possible. We have 3 consulting rooms with a dedicated Nurses room along with digital x-rays, multiparameter, ECG, ultrasound, Idexx lab machines and tonometry.
We have vast experience amongst the team with vets ranging from New Graduate to 34 years Qualified and Nurses also New Graduate to 22 years qualified, all with extensive experience and knowledge to share amongst them in basic orthopaedics, soft tissue, emergency inpatient care and acupuncture to name a few. We also have one of our RVN’s currently undertaking the ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing and another undertaking the BSAVA Merit Award in Behaviour with another RVN having also completed the Wildlife Programme of the Advanced Programme in Veterinary Nursing of Zoo and Exotic Species with Girling and Fraser.

Applicant Requirements

We are looking for a friendly and competent newly qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse who wants to work in a busy first opinion practice with a passion for patient care and client education. We believe effective client education leads to successful preventative health and awareness around illness and disease. We are looking for someone who has recently qualified and has had experience within small animal practice throughout their training and can jump in and use their Nursing Skills that they have worked so hard for.
