The Role

At Mount Road Vets, we have an exciting opportunity available for an RVN/Experienced ANA to join our fast-paced practice. We are open 7 days per week and run a non-appointment system, with 3 set surgery times per day. Your day-to-day duties will include hands on Nursing, animal handling, inpatient care, Front desk activities, completing paperwork, answering phone calls, admitting, and discharging patients, care of inpatients, theatre responsibilities, triage, assist in consultations. You will be working closely with Veterinary Surgeons on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will get involved in all aspects at the practice as we make one big team, and all support each other. We do not currently offer nurse clinics but there would be the opportunity for you to introduce and have some influence over these for the right candidate.

The Rota

  • 7 days working, 7 days off
  • Averaging out at a 34 hours per week annually
  • There are No OOH’s duties with this role
  • We start at 9.30am and finish at 6.30pm

About Us

We are a no appointment practice, with 3 set surgery times per day. The team are a busy, jolly, fast paced, down to earth bunch. We have 2 vets, one of whom is clinical director. We also have a growing team of 6 nursing and support staff. We do when time allows to go for a social pub meal or quiz night as and when we can. We have faithful clients who return time after time. New clients are forever growing and are mainly directed to us via word of mouth.We have digital x-ray facilities, in house blood machine and soon to arrive ultra sound scanner. Our practice may look small on the outside but it is a tardis with a huge heart on the inside. We are just 4 miles away from Manchester city centre.

Applicant Requirements

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills. You must be able to demonstrate honesty with compassion and a caring approach. We are looking for someone who is happy to work on their own initiative as well as within the team, with a confident down to earth personality. You will have had previous practice experience and feel confident with animal handling.
