The Role

We are looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (would consider a 2nd/3rd year student who is confident to be on call). The right candidate will be keen to use all their nursing skills and enjoy working within a team. You will be involved in all areas of the practice to include admit and discharging patients, supporting vets with surgical procedures and imaging, nurse consults, undertaking lab work, caring for inpatients and communicating with clients either providing updates on the care of their pet or providing advice. We actively encourage CPD and development in areas of interest.

This is a 12 month fixed term position with the possible option to extend. You will be working between 32-39 hours week Monday to Friday (possible 4 day week option). OOHs shared with neighbouring practice with a 1:7 weekend rota alternating with 1x in patient checks only and 1x weekend on call duty. No out of hours phone duties and the following Friday is a day off in lieu. Week nights on call duties shared between 5 nurses and do included occasional patient checks.

We are a forward thinking practice located in the Georgian town of Holt, on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. Glaven Vets has been part of the local community since the 1960’s, providing the highest standard of veterinary care for their pets, whilst offering a personal touch. We have great facilities as well as separate cat and dog waiting area and wards. Our team consists of 6 vets, 6 RVN's, 2 SVN and 2 ANA's as well as a team of 5 customer support staff.

Applicant Requirements

Our ideal candidate would be a Registered Veterinary Nurse, however, we would also consider a SVN nearing the end of their training. You will be a nurse who wants to utilise all their nursing skills as we actively encourage nurse consults and rota covering all areas of practice to include lab work.
